Teknik özelliklerinden bahsetmeden önce dışardan nasıl göründüğüne bakalım: Simsiyah oyun konsolunu yatay ve dikey konumda kullanma şansınız var. Her iki koşulda da logonun yönünü manuel olarak düzeltebiliyorsunuz. (Bunun bir özellik olarak algılamayın) İlk aşamada dokunmatik play/eject tuşu ile Blue Ray DVD oyununuzu Playstation’a yerleştiriyorsunuz. Otomobillerdekine benzer bir mekanizma ile DVD kendiliğinden içeri alınıyor. Speed Tweaking PCLinuxOS 2007 TR3

Using PCLinuxOS 2007 TR3 for the last few weeks, I’ve noticed VAST improvements over the .93a release. The most noticable of these is boot times. My boot time is absolutely amazing on this Dell E521n...it averages 30-40 seconds. That’s right. 30-40 SECONDS. I was floored the first time I booted after install. I thought I had done something wrong. I quickly rebooted and got out the stopwatch and recorded 32 seconds as my official time. I rebooted another 5-6 times and averaged in between 30-40 seconds each time and was closer to 30 on 8 out of 10 boots. Absolutely amazing.

Linux, with projects like upstart which is being considered for the next release of Ubuntu, are getting to the point now where boot times will drop considerably. This is welcome as far as I’m concerned...it allows you to get going right away with your business be it personal or other.

Once you’re logged in though...many people don’t touch the OS itself and instead leave it at the default settings. For most people this is ok...as not having something set to be optimized is ok and most distro rollers setup their distros so that they cause the least amount of problems for the most variety of hardware. For me, I like to mess around. I like to play. "I like the night life...I like to boogie"

So without further silliness and introductional nonsense, I proudly present a bunch of data that I gathered from various sources (cited where possible) and a few tricks of my own that will allow most rpm based distros to tweak their way into improved performance. Since I did this specifically for the PCLinuxOS community though, I’ve titled the article accordingly. As it is, the article should work for most Fedora’s and Mandriva’s and possibly even OpenSuse.

Debunking Confusion in PCLinuxOS

Active readers of this blog know that I help out with a little distribution called PCLinuxOS. I help out through my other website mypclinuxos.com which is a community development website where like minded individuals can gather together to develop add-ons, customizations, and other items to PCLinuxOS to tailor it to what they want in a distro. It’s a great concept and one that has been gathering quite a bit of support from the PCLinuxOS community.
This week, Distrowatch Weekly has redone their top 10 distributions and included PCLinuxOS inside of that top ten for the first time ever. In fact, when I began using PCLinuxOS, it was around 15th on the distrowatch charts. If you look at 2005 vs. 2006 charts, you’ll see that out of the top 15 distros tracked, PCLinuxOS was the largest gainer over the course of that year. I like to think that mypclinuxos (started Mar 27, 2006) had a lot to do with that...and I don’t ask for any recognition at all...but take great satisfaction in helping what I believe to be the premiere Linux distribution for new users gain ground.
As stated, Distrowatch Weekly named PCLinuxOS as one of the “Top Ten” distributions and I was very happy about this. What was less than stellar was some of the negative feedback that resulted from this announcement. I realize that much of the feedback is based on false assumptions, ignorance, and fanboism...but just the same, I found a couple of comments I’d like to respond to so that the correct information is available for everyone to see.

Dell and the Linux Desktop

There’s quite a bit of speculation going on at what distribution of Linux Dell will choose to put onto its desktops or if they’ll even attempt to put Linux on the desktop.
In my opinion, it would be smart for them to do this...mainly because there is so much marketing momentum behind this right now they’d be a fool not to take advantage of it...and they didn’t have to pay a dime for it either. Most companies would kill for their blog to receive as much attention as the Dell Linux Blog and Idea Storm has gotten in the past few months...and they’d kill for the huge amounts of media attention the Dell Linux Survey and Announcement of Certified Linux Computers are also getting.
I think Dell will ride this Linux wave in...but not how most people think they will. Most people think Dell will listen to tons of people filling out the surveys telling them Ubuntu. But examining this from a business perspective and Ubuntu becomes the lowest choice on the totem pole. I believe they’ll surprise everyone with a different move that would get them the most out of their business AND personal Computer lines. I think they will (if they choose any distribution at all) choose Fedora Core or RHEL Desktop and not Ubuntu.
Why would they do this? To be tied to Red Hat more of course. This allows them to do less to certify their hardware for Red Hat and you can bet that if Linux is on the desktop pre-installed that they’ll offer it on the server. I think this would be a good deal for both Red Hat and for Dell...even though it’s Fedora it opens the door a bit and since Fedora is a test ground for RHEL, choosing it is beneficial all around.
I believe (since we’re speculating here) that Dell will snuggle up to Red Hat as much as they possibly can and that it will benefit both of their businesses in a HUGE way.
The thing that makes me think this is Red Hat’s sudden (re)interest in the desktop has odd timing. Is it purely coincidental? Is it random chance? Is it just speculation? Who knows. One thing is for certain...when a company get’s big, nothing it does is pure chance.
And what of Novell? If we truly want to speculate, Novell is also a better choice than Ubuntu...because of the existing agreement with Microsoft, Suse also looks better for Dell because of their own ties to Microsoft. So, we’ve got two distros that have more going for them than Ubuntu does...which may or may not be a good thing. So who will Dell choose if they choose at all?
Anyone else care to speculate?

Sonny Ericsson

We thought they might be done after the S500 announcement, but it would appear that Sony Ericsson wanted to torment us with a series of new devices -- none with 3G love for over here, naturally. First off we have the P1 (née the P700i) which is a tri-band Euro-UMTS jobby (that's 2100 MHz) with a touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, and push mail in both Microsoft and BlackBerry flavors. Next up, the T250 which is an intro level candybar style phone with a VGA camera and FM radio that will arrive in two different versions, with a 850 / 1900 likely being aimed at the US market. Also on the roster is the T650, yet another tri-band handset with 2100 MHz UMTS, a 3.2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth. Finally -- something that is useful the world over -- the HBH-DS980 stereo Bluetooth headset. It seems this new set is mostly a cosmetic upgrade from the DS970, with the same reflective treatment as the Z610i, 6 hours talk time or music time, and an OLED display that is hidden by the units reflective finish until it is powered on. Very little else here, folks (aside from some pretty bitter disappointment at getting 3G-snubbed yet again), but as soon as we get some decent pics and specs, you know you will find them right .



Sony Ericsson Introduces New Phones, Including Two for North America



Today Sony Ericsson introduced a handful of new phones, two of which will be seen in North America. All of them feature thin designs.
S500: The S500 shares most of the attributes and features of the W580, but without the Walkman branding. It's a quad-band GSM/EDGE slider, with a 2 megapixel camera and picture blogging tool. The S500 does have a music player, though it's not the Walkman player, and supports stereo Bluetooth. It keeps the hidden illumination, but sheds the orange and white skin of the W580 for either a green or yellow exterior. It will be available in the U.S. in the third quarter of this year.
T250: The T250 candy bar phone will be available in two versions, including a GSM 850/1900 variant. It is a lower-tier phone, and its basic feature set includes a VGA camera, FM radio, navigation key, and silver or black metallic finishes. It will be available in select markets in the third quarter of this year.
P1: The P1 is a new addition to the P Series smartphones and has a long list of features. It has a touchscreen display with handwriting recognition, integrated QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi and supports VoIP. It supports a number of push email clients and uses the Opera Web browser. Its 3.2 megapixel camera has autofocus and the P1 has stereo Bluetooth. With its tri-band GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 and UMTS 2100 radios, it is not optimized for U.S. networks.
T650: The T650 is another tri-band GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 and UMTS 2100 3G candy bar phone not optimized for U.S. networks. Its standout feature is its 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus. It also supports stereo Bluetooth

Sony Ericsson announces the S500




Well, it's about time! Sony Ericsson's backroom must have been full to bursting with new and conceptual handsets and this morning the S500 somehow snuck out. This winsome slider is a bit of an oddity in that it has most of the features expected in a Walkman-branded handset, but is not -- instead it's said to be inspired by "the materials and colors found in the natural world." Featuring quadband GSM plus EDGE (no HSDPA to be found here), a 2 megapixel cam, Memory Stick Micro expandability, nine hours talk and 370 hours standby, the goodness finds itself piled in non-traditional colored "Mysterious Green" or "Spring Yellow" housings. Unique to this handset is theme and external lighting effects that can be set to change with the season, as day turns to night or even at the beginning of the weekend; this seems like a fun idea, as long as the blinky lights aren't too bright. No word on carrier or pricing, but we can expect it to hit in Q3 this year.

'In human format' is the collaboration between Bent Object's music and FoAM's visuals. Brussels-based artists Peter Van Hoesen, Susanne Bentley (Bent Object), Maja Kuzmanovic and Nik Gaffney (FoAM) present an intense audiovisual language. They draw the spectator into a world where sounds and patterns

shift and blend organically into each other. Music as collage, sound as experiment. ‘In human Format’ offers a dense musical

composition linked to an even more intense visual layer. FoAM stretches our visual imagination beyond the average digital landscapes. Organic textures collide with byte-based forms, linked to sounds through changing aesthetic tactics: at times evenly matched, at times side-stepping and attaching themselves to different musical events.

With his reference to the technical video term ‘title safe area’’, Verdin creates a metaphor for conformity, one which he immediately denies and transforms into a non-conformist refuge for audiovisual artists. An evolving, resonating journey through splintering landscapes and mysterious characters. Abstractions and forms are reverberated in fragile soundscapes of chaotic planes and unsettling arrhythmic patterns. Is it film or an improvised VJ cut-up? Is it visualized music feeding back into images, or images generating music? Synchronized sinking as SYNKEN is Transforma and O.S.T.’s collective creative experience. SYNKEN pushes the limitations and restrictions of genres and steps across new ground in digital art. With a mix of abstract images, graphic animation, digital image effects and complex film sequences, SYNKEN creates a fantastically spaced out, darkly romantic image-world. Forests filled with distorted organic forms are contrasted against an architectural abyss, as strange and fantastic characters try to make sense of their surroundings. A mysterious vagabond works as a medium between these parallel worlds, transporting artefacts that become recurring symbols in the dual system and means of communication between the creatures which inhabit them. Produced in parallel to the images, O.S.T.‘s arrhythmic crackling electronic 5.1 surround soundtrack bathes the images in an eerily hypnotic flow. As sound and image merge and fall apart again over time, they form a synergy that opens up subtle leads which can never be read only as linear. As plot fragments refract and reoccur, SYNKEN continuously confronts the viewer with a modular narrative that can be potentially combined to create any number of interpretations. in the live performance version, Transforma and O.S.T.‘s real-time decisions will use this potential to develop further one-off versions of SYNKEN.

Cisco Acquires Social Networking Company

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO), whose core business is selling the routers and switches that direct data traffic over computer networks, said it has acquired a small social networking company that allows businesses to create MySpace-like communities on their Web sites.

Cisco said Friday that it was paying an undisclosed amount to acquire privately held Five Across Inc., an 11-person San Francisco company whose software allows companies to add user-interaction functions and multimedia-sharing capabilities to their Web sites.

Five Across' publishing platform allows users to create personal Web pages and post photos, videos and audio clips, much like the proprietary system used by News Corp. (NWS)'s MySpace.
Cisco said the acquisition, its 116th since 1993, is the company's first in the social networking space but likely not the last. The deal is expected to close within the current fiscal quarter.
Analysts said the acquisition helps further Cisco's expansion beyond its role as purely a network equipment provider and into helping distribute the media that drives bandwidth consumption and even more network upgrades.

Danielle Levitas, a senior analyst at market researcher IDC, said the Five Across acquisition could help Cisco win greater access to a wide range of companies, particularly those in media and entertainment, looking to upgrade their Web sites to connect with customers.
"I actually see this as benefiting their core business - if they can promote users using their broadband more, that's huge for them," Levitas said.

Cisco has profited mightily in recent quarters from surging sales of its routers and switches as service providers and other companies scramble to upgrade their networks to prepare for the next generation of video and other bandwidth-intensive downloads.
Cisco, which was sitting on nearly $21 billion in cash at the end of the second quarter, has been rapidly expanding by acquiring companies that capitalize on the products and services that utilize the network itself.

The company's largest recent acquisition was its $6.9 billion purchase last year of Scientific-Atlanta Inc., the world's second-largest cable television box seller.
Last month, Cisco also announced it was paying $830 million in cash and stock to acquire IronPort Systems Inc., a maker of anti-spam and antivirus security products. That deal is also expected to close in the current quarter.

Investors have cheered the San Jose-based company's robust earnings growth, sending its shares up 45 percent from a year ago and creating more than $51 billion in additional shareholder wealth.

Cisco's stock closed up 5 cents to $28.14 on Thursday before the acquisition was announced.

Corporate history

Len Bosack and Sandy Lerner (Bachelor of Science from California State University, Chico, Masters in Econometrics from Claremont University, Masters in Statistics and Computer Science from Stanford University), a married couple that worked in computer operations staff at Stanford University, founded Cisco Systems in 1984. Bosack adapted multiple-protocol router software originally written by William Yeager, another staff employee who had begun the work years before Bosack arrived from the University of Pennsylvania, where Bosack had received his bachelor's degree.

While Cisco was not the first company to develop and sell a router (a device that forwards computer traffic between two or more networks), it did create the first commercially successful multi-protocol router to allow previously incompatible computers to communicate using different network protocols. As the Internet Protocol (IP) has become a standard, the importance of multi-protocol routing as a function has declined. Today, Cisco's largest routers are marketed to route primarily IP packets and MPLS frames.

In 1990, the company went public and was listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Bosack and Lerner walked away from the company with $170 million and later divorced.

During the Internet boom in 1999, the company acquired Cerent Corp., a start-up company located in Petaluma, California, for about $7 billion. It was the most expensive acquisition made by Cisco at that time. The only bigger acquisition is Scientific Atlanta.

In late March 2000, at the height of the dot-com boom, Cisco was the most valuable company in the world, with a market capitalisation of more than $500 billion. In 2007, with a market cap of about $165 billion, it is still one of the most valuable companies.

Using acquisitions, internal development, and partnering with other companies, Cisco has made inroads into many network equipment markets outside routing, including Ethernet switching, remote access, branch office routers, ATM networking, security, IP telephony, and others. In 2003, Cisco acquired Linksys, a popular manufacturer of computer networking hardware and positioned it as a leading brand for the home and end user networking market (SOHO).
Cisco has set up Cisco Networking Academies in 150 countries aimed at teaching students to design and maintain computer networks.

The name "Cisco" is an abbreviation of San Francisco. According to John Morgridge, employee 34 and the company's former president, the founders hit on the name and logo while driving to Sacramento to register the company -- they saw the Golden Gate Bridge framed in the sunlight.

The name cisco Systems (with the lowercase "c") continued in use within the engineering community at the company long after the official company name was changed to Cisco Systems, Inc. Users of Cisco products can still see the name ciscoSystems occasionally in bug reports and IOS messages.

Nokia Siemens Networks drops the axe on 9000 jobs

While this doesn't come as a huge surprise -- this layoff was predicted last year -- it still hurts to see such massive cutbacks in an industry held so near and dear to our hearts. Apparently 2,900 jobs in Germany and 1,700 in Finland will be cut on the road to finding savings to the tune of $2 billion by 2010. The final cut will be about 9,000 employees which is roughly 15 percent of the joint venture's workforce of 60,000. The joint venture was founded to help both companies compete with the likes of Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent with 5 major business units focusing on Radio Access, Broadband Access, Service Core and Applications, IP / Transport, and Operations Support Systems. Of course, the verdict is still out on how successful this venture will ultimately be, but Nokia's track record in the mobile space has been strong for as many years as we care to remember.

Smoking kills Internet2

Say what you want about net neutrality, at least the Internet hasn't been taken out by a hobo. Unlike the regular Internet we all use everyday, which was originally designed to distribute the AACS hex key withstand a nuclear attack, Internet2 is designed primarily for speed -- up to 9.08Gbps in most recent tests. All that juice comes at the price of redundant network links, though -- which means the whole thing got taken offline last night when a homeless man threw a cigarette onto a mattress under Boston's Longfellow Bridge, starting a blaze that eventually melted the fiber-optic link between Boston and New York. While initial estimates called for a service outage of 1-2 days, quick-thinking techs were able to get service going again in just 4 hours. Good thing, too -- if the panic that sets in around here when our DSL goes out is any indication, with the kind of bandwidth these guys were missing out on, there must've been wailing in the street.

Netgear acquires Infrant to boost storage offerings

Hot on the heels of yet another big time acquisition between Philips and DLO comes news that Netgear will be snapping up the privately-held Infrant Technologies for a cool $60 million in cash. All 34 employees will soon be wearing Netgear badges, and Infrant's CEO will move over and become Netgear's Vice President and General Manager for storage products. Essentially, Netgear is hoping that this move will strengthen the firm's presence in the enterprise and small-business storage realm, as it can now offer up a trusted name in RAID-based NAS products for SMB, SOHO, and the home. More specifically, the ReadyNAS, RAIDiator, and X-RAID portfolios were the targets of Netgear's desire, and while details on branding and the timeframe for the merge weren't noted, it sounds like Netgear's ready to get this party started on the double.

$500 million underwater fiber network to link Asia, America

Unfortunately for most, traversing back and forth to Asia from America on a regular basis isn't exactly in the cards, but thanks to a $500 million project agreed upon by a 17-member telecommunications consortium, visiting via fiber will soon be a whole lot snappier. Telekom Malaysia, along with 16 other firms, have awarded a half billion dollar contract to Alcatel-Lucent and NEC to construct a 12,428-mile link between the west coast of America and Southeast Asia. The aptly-dubbed Asia-America Gateway will connect the western US with Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Guam, and Hawaii, while also offering "seamless interconnection" with Europe, Africa, and Australia. Moreover, the project is being designed to provide a "more secure link for traffic" across the seas, as it avoids the hazardous Pacific Ring in hopes of dodging massive internet outages due to unexpected earthquakes. Best of all, the wait time for the undersea cabling to make an impact is fairly reasonable, as users should see "faster and more reliable service" when it becomes operational in December of next year.

Turn your OS X and Linux-based machine into a FON Spot

Not one to dwell too heavily on the past, FON is apparently already moving beyond its newfangled partnership with Time Warner, and has now caved to giving Mac and Linux users the ability to get in on the action. The latest FON Spot software now appears in a beta form for OS X and Linux (preferably Ubuntu) users, allowing Ethernet-connected machines to share excess bandwidth with others via WiFi. Notably, it's even supposed to work if connected via 3G, but we can't imagine your carrier being all too pleased with such a scheme. Japonya’da, Akishima Laboratories’de suyun üzerine yazı yazabilmek için bir teknoloji geliştirmişler. Dalga yaratmak için 50 adet parça içeren bu alet aynı anda yaratılan dalgaların üstüste binen oluşumları sayesinde su üstünde harf ya da resim oluşturabiliyor. Tabii ki bunun için güçlü bir bilgisayar Bessel Fonksyionlarını kullanarak bir sürü hesap kitap yapıyor. Alet aynı görüntüyü üç saniyede bir oluşturabiliyor..

Fdisk Atmak ( Yapmak )

Yeni bir sabit disk aldığınızda, sabit diskinizi kullanıma hazır hale getirmek için Fdisk yada benzeri partitionlama programı kullanmanız kaçınılmazdır. Yeni bir bilgisayar kullancısının bu konularda çok zorlandığını düşünerek, böyle bir yazının faydalı olacağını düşündük.Fdisk’i kabaca, C:, D:, E: gibi partitionları oluşturmak için kullanıyoruz. Kullanımı aslında zor gibi gözüksede, mantığını anladıktan sonra kolaydır. Bölümlemeyi anlatırken Fdisk’i baz aldık. Çünkü disk bölümlemede en çok kullanılan programcıktır. Partition Magic gibi bazı grafiksel arabirime sahip programlarda bulunuyor. Fakat işimiz şu anda Fdisk ile.



Fdisk programını çalıştırdığınızda karşınıza yukarıdaki bir ekran gelecek. Bu yazını kısaltılmışı şu : “Diskinizi FAT32 olarak formatalayacaksanız E tuşuna, FAT16 olarak formatlayacaksanız H tuşuna basınız.”. Biz diskimizi FAT32 olarak formatlayacağız. FAT16 ile hem 2,1 Gb’dan daha büyük bölümleri desteklemez, hemde dosyaları FAT32′ye göre daha savurgan kullanır. Burayı “E” tuşuna basarak, ingilizce ise ” Y ” tuşuna basıyorsunuz ve Enter diyorsunuz.

Normal şartlarda siteminize sadece bir tane harddisk takılı ise ilk 4 seçenek görünecektir. 5. seçenek ise sisteminize çift harddisk takılı ise görünecektir. 5. seçeneği hangi diskiniz üzerinde işlem yapacağınızı seçmek için kullanıyorsunuz

Eğer sisteminizde 2 yada 2′den fazla harddiskiniz varsa 5. seçeneği seçip hangi hdd üzerinde işlem yapabileceğinizi seçebiliyorsunuz demiştik. İşte 5. seçeneği seçtiğinizde yukarıdaki gibi bir ekran ile karşılaşacaksınız. Sabit diskinizi sanırım boyutlarından ayırt edebilirsiniz. yada takılma sırasına göre sıralanacaktır. Sırasıyla Primary Master- Primary Slave- Secondary Master - Secondary Slave şeklinde ve sırasında harddisklerinizi görünecektir.işlem yapacağınız harddiski seçtikten sonra Enter tuşuna basıyorsunuz.

Tekrar ana menüye döndükten sonra, yeni bir bölümü oluşturmak için, 1. seçeneği yani Dos bölümü veya Mantıksa dos sürücüsü oluştur seçeneğini seçiyorsunuz. Karşınıza yukarıdaki gibi bir ekran gelecektir. Tekrar buradan birinici seçeneği seçiyorsunuz

Daha sonra karşınıza yukarıdaki gibi bir ekran gelecek. Harddisknizi tek parça yapacaksanız sorulan soruya Evet cevabı vermeniz gerekiyor. Eğer harddisknizi birden fazla parçaya bölecekseniz buraya Hayır/NO deyip geçiyoruz

Eğer biraz önceki soruya evet deseydiniz, sadece bilgisayarı yeniden başlatıp Format C: demeniz yeterli olacaktı. Biz hayır dedik ve karşımıza yukarıdaki gibi bir ekran geldi. Burada ilk bölümün yani C:’nin kaç MB olacağını belirliyorsunuz. MB miktarını girdikten sonra “Enter” tuşuna basıyorsunuz.

Enter’a bastıktan sonra yukarıdaki gibi bir ekran gelecektir. Şimdi buradaki soruya Enter deyip geçiyoruz. Sakın buradaki MB miktarını değiştirmeyin. Buraya da Enter dedikten sonra yukarıdakine benzer bir ekran gelecektir. Eğer harddisknizin iki parça olmasını istiyorsanız burayada Enter deyip geçin. Ama 3 veya daha fazla partitiona bölmek istiyorsanız D: sürücüsü için MB miktarını girin. Daha sonra yine bir soru daha gelecek. Burayada E: sürücünün MB miktarını girin. Anlatınca size karışık görünebilir ama bu yazıları baz alarak takip ederseniz hiçte zor bir işlem olmadığının farkına varacaksınızdır. Ha tabii birde en çok sorulan sorulardan bir tanesi ise: ” Hardiskimi 2 parçaya böldüm. Sistem disketi ile açıp harddiski formatladım ve sistemi hardiskime tansfer ettim. Ama bilgisayar boot etmiyor. Sorun nedir? “. Şimdi bu sorunun yaşanmasının tek sebebi, Etkin bölümün atanmamasıdır. Tek partition oluşturulacaksa Etkin bölüm atamaya gerek yoktur. Ama 2 veya 2′den fazla bölüm oluşturulacaksa Etkin Bölüm atamak gerekir. Bunun için Fdisk’in ana menüsünden 2. seçeneği yani, Etkin bölüm ata seçeneğini seçiyoruz. Ve C: ‘yi aktif bölüm olarak atıyorsunuz.

Bu işlemleri yaptıktan sonra ise, ESC tuşu ile FDİSK ‘den çıkıyorsunuz. Bilgisayarınızı başlangıç disketiyle başlatıyorsunuz ve A: ‘da iken şu komutları veriyorsunuz:

Mersin’de bilişimci 3 Türk mühendisin “Ağ güvenliği ve ağ yönetimi” üzerine geliştirdiği “Antikor” sistemi, işletmelerin bilgisayar sistemlerini güvence altına alıyor.
Bilgisayar Mühendisleri Kutluhan Kibrit (36) ile Nasır Can Kırık (25) ve Elektrik Elektronik Mühendisi Özkan Kırık’ın (24), Mersin Teknoloji Geliştirme Bölgesi’ne (TeknoScope) “Antikor Projesi” ile başvurarak geliştirdikleri sistem sayesinde, bilişim sektöründe yurt dışına bağımlılığın azaltılması hedefleniyor.
Üretici şirketin genel müdürü Özkan Kırık, ürettikleri sistem ile savunmasız haldeki işletmelerin bilişim güvenliği ihtiyacına cevap veren ve ağ yönetimi sağlayan bir ürün ortaya koyduklarını söyledi.
Sistemin şu anda bir çok kurum ve kuruluşta kullanılmaya başlandığını ifade eden Kırık, “Antikor antivirüs geçidi, küçük ve orta büyüklükteki işletmeler (KOBİ) için geliştirilen ve internet hattının önüne monte edilerek ağda bulunan bilgisayarları internet ortamından gelen saldırılara karşı koruyan bir cihaz” diye konuştu.

Dünyanın en büyük yazılım firması Microsoft’un Live OneCare adlı güvenlik yazılımı, Windows işletim sistemini hedefleyen virüsleri tespit eden ve durduran programların testinde sınıfta kaldı.
Merkezi Avusturya’da bulunan AV Comparatives adlı bağımsız bir kuruluş tarafından yapılan testte, Microsoft’un OneCare güvenlik yazılımı, 17 anti-virüs programı arasında tek başarısız olan yazılım olarak dikkati çekti. Test sırasında, Microsoft’un güvenlik yazılımı, 500 bin virüsün sadece yüzde 82,4′ünü tespit edebildi.
Virüs, solucan, sülük, arka kapı veya truvalı gibi çok çeşitli kötü niyetli programları 3 ayda bir test eden AV Comparatives’in son testinde, 14 anti-virüs programı en iyi ve iyi, 2’si geçer ve OneCare de başarısız not aldı.
Microsoft’tan bir yetkiliyse öncelikle bu testin metodolojisi ve sonuçlarını yakından incelediklerini ve bulgularını Windows Live OneCare’in sonraki testlerde daha iyi olması için değerlendireceklerini belirtirken, ürünlerinin Amerikan ICSA Laboratuvarları ve West Point Checkpoint sisteminden sertifikalı olduğunu anımsattı.

Seagate, 15.000 RPM dönüş hızına sahip ve 2.5 inçlik diskini duyurdu.Seagate, dün yaptığı açıklama ile teknoloji severlerin heyecanlanmasına neden oldu. Firma, dizüstü bilgisayarlarda da kullanılan 2.5 inçlik disklerde 15.000 RPM’lik dönüş hızını yakaladığını bildirdi. Bunun ne demek olduğunu daha kolay anlatmak için masaüstü bilgisayarlarla kıyaslayacak olursak; dizüstü bilgisayarlardan çok daha hızlı dediğimiz bir masaüstü bilgisayardaki sabit diskin dönüş hızı 7200 RPM iken Seagate’in yeni diskinin 15.000 RPM dönüş hızında olduğunu söyleyebiliriz.
Artıları eksileri Avantajlarını tahmin edebileceğiniz yeni ürünün, dezavantajlarından başlayarak biraz moral bozalım. Yüksek miktardaki dönüş hızı, beraberinde ısınma sorununu da getirdiğinden dolayı, bu ürünün dizüstü bilgisayarlarda kullanılması şu an için mümkün değil.Ürünün, az yer kaplayan hızlı veri deposu ihtiyacı olan şirketler için ideal olduğu bildiriliyor.
Bir diğer avantajı da 2.5 inç olduğundan dolayı aranan verinin bulunması, masaüstü bilgisayarlarda kullandığımız 3.5 inçlik sabit disklere oranla daha az zaman alıyor.Seagate’ten Dünya’nın en hızlısı, 15.000′lik dönüş hızına, 2,9ms’lik veri erişim hızına sahip Savvio
Seagate Dünya’nın en hızlı sabit diski olduğunu iddia ettiği yeni ürünü Savvio 15K’yı sundu. Sunucu sistemlerinde kullanılmak üzere üretilen, 15 bin dönüşlük hızı ile sınırları zorlayan yeni Savvio 2,9 milisaniyelik veri erişim hızına sahip.
2,5 inchlik yeni Savvio, enerji tüketimi açısından da 3,5 inchlik klasik sabit disklerden %30 daha avantajlı. Buna göre yeni minik Savvio bekleme halindeyken 5,8 W tüketiyor. Şimdilik sadece 36 ve 73 GB’lık kapasitelerle piyasaya sunulacak yeni Savvio 15K, özellikle anlık veri akışının yüksek olduğu sistemlerde kullanılacak. Toshiba cep telefonlarından, diz üstü bilgisayarlar ve diğer taşınabilir cihazlara kadar Lityum-İyon pillerin kullanıldığı her yerde kullanım alışkanlığına yeni bir soluk getirmeye hazırlanıyor.
Toshiba’nın yeni geliştirdiği formüle dayanan bu lityum-iyon piller benzerlerinden tam 60 kat daha hızlı şarj olabiliyor: bu da sadece 1 dakika içerisinde pilinizin kapasitesinin %80′ini geri kazanmanız demek.
1 dakika da %80 oranında şarj kapasitesi gerçekten çok ciddi bir gelişme. Bu hız sayesinde dizüstü bilgisayarlar, cep telefonları ve diğerleri pilleri bitse dahi çok kısa süre içerisinde şarj edilebileceğinden neredeyse kesintisiz bir deneyim yaşatabilecekler kullanıcılarına.
Bu yeni pillerin tamamen dolması ise yaklaşık 6 dakika sürüyor.
Üstelik pilin ömrü de ard arda yapılan şarjlar ile pek azalmıyor: Yaklaşık 1000 şarjda kapasite %1′lik bir düşüş meydana gelebiliyor. Eğer ortam sıcaklığı 45 derece gibi aşırı değerlerde seyrederse düşüş %5′e çıkabiliyor.
Bunların yanında bu pilin çalışma ortam sıcaklığı da diğer Li-İyonlara göre daha geniş bir yelpazeye yayılmış: - 40 derecede pil %80 oranında barındırdığı enerjiyi aktarabiliyor.
Bütün bu sihir yeni Kobalt anot ve karbon içermeyen katot sayesinde mümkün olmuş. Elektrolit içeriğindeki nano partiküller katot üzerinde bir kaç yüz nanometre kalınlığında koruyucu bir tabaka oluşturup direkt teması kesiyor. Lityum iyonlarıyla temas etmeyen katot döngüyü hızlandırıyor. Pilin şu anki örnekleri standart 3.6 V değerinin altında voltaja sahip; ama Toshiba pillerin seri üretime geçeceği zaman bunun artacağını söylüyor.
Pillerin seri üretime 2007 ilk çeyreğinde geçmesi planlanıyor; bu süre içerisinde yakıt hücrelerinde de büyük gelişmeler beklendiğinden enerji depolama dünyasında ciddi bir rekabet olması büyük olasılık.
